Salt air and driving rain shape where the charger goes. Where the layout allows we pick a sheltered position, use outdoor-rated hardware and detail the enclosure and cable entries for exposure.
Strata, basement and townhouse garages
Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach apartment and townhouse garages usually need body corporate approval and agreement on where the supply is taken from. We prepare the documentation committees ask for.
Sloping blocks and long runs

Questions before you book
How long does a home EV charger installation take on the Gold Coast?+
Most standard installations are completed in three to four hours. Installations that require a switchboard upgrade or a long cable run can take a full day.
Do I need three phase power?+
No. A single phase 7kW charger adds roughly 40km of range per hour, which covers overnight charging for almost every Gold Coast household. Three phase 11kW or 22kW is worth it for high daily distances or two EVs.
Will my switchboard need upgrading?+
Only if it lacks capacity, space or modern protection. Older Gold Coast homes often do. We assess your board before quoting so there are no surprises on installation day.
Can I charge from my solar?+
Yes. Solar-aware chargers divert surplus generation to your vehicle rather than exporting it, which is usually the cheapest energy you will ever put in your car.
Is the installation compliant and certified?+
Every installation is carried out by a licensed Queensland electrical contractor to AS/NZS 3000 requirements, and a certificate of compliance is issued on completion.
What does a home charger cost to install?+
It depends on the charger you choose, how far the cable has to run from the switchboard, and whether any switchboard work is needed first. We quote a fixed, itemised price before any work starts, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Can a charger be installed in a strata townhouse or apartment garage?+
Usually yes, where you have an allocated private space. Body corporate approval is normally the longest part, so we supply the installation details and documentation the committee asks for. Requirements differ from scheme to scheme, so check your own by-laws.
Is an outdoor charger a problem in a coastal carport?+
Chargers we install are rated for outdoor use. In salt-air coastal locations we still choose a sheltered position where the layout allows, keep the unit out of driving rain and direct afternoon sun, and use suitable enclosures and cable entries.
